GOT FREE SUMMER CONCERTS? VOTE NOW TO BRING THEM BACK TO LIVERMORE

LIVERMORE, CA – (November 2, 2015) –Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center (LVPAC) has applied for and been approved to be included in the running for a Levitt AMP [Your City] Grant Award. The grant will enable LVPAC to continue and expand its free summer concert series for 2016.

Sponsored by Levitt Pavilions, the national nonprofit behind the largest free concert series in America, LVPAC hopes to qualify as one of the 15 winning organizations competing in the Levitt AMP [Your City] Grant Awards.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for Livermore Arts and a true gift to our community,” says Executive Director, Scott Kenison. “We’re asking all music lovers to go on line and vote for us. We’d like nothing more than to continue and expand our free concert series for 2016.”

LVPAC’s summer concert proposal is now posted on the Levitt AMP website for public voting. http://levittamp.org

LVPAC has partnered with the Livermore Cultural Arts Council to offer a free summer concert series on Tuesday evenings, as well as on some Fridays for the past 8 years. By winning the grant award, LVPAC will be able to add Thursday evening performances and increase the range and quality of performances presented. LVPAC hopes this will attract more visitors to downtown and enhance the visibility of all the performing arts in the city.

A successful campaign for LVPAC depends on community participation to get as many online votes as possible to bring the concert series to town. Community support, as measured by the number of online votes received, will be one of the key factors when Levitt Pavilions selects the 15 winners.

“We need our supporters and everyone who loves free live music (and who doesn’t!) to help us by spreading the word to family, friends, colleagues and neighbors,” says Kenison. We are launching a Facebook campaign, so please share our posts with the link online and encourage others to vote!”

The Levitt AMP [Your City] Grant Awards are a matching grant opportunity created by Levitt Pavilions to serve small to mid-sized towns and cities up to 400,000 people. Fifteen nonprofits, or municipalities partnering with a nonprofit, will receive up to $25,000 each in matching funds to produce their own Levitt AMP Music Series—an outdoor, free concert series featuring a diverse lineup of professional musicians.

Supporters are asked to visit https://grant.levittamp.org/voter-registration-page/ to register and vote. Online public voting is now open and ends Nov. 30 at 5 p.m. Pacific Time. The Top 25 finalists will be selected through online public voting. Levitt Pavilions will then review the proposals of these 25 finalists and the 15 Levitt AMP winners will be announced on January 5, 2016.
