A special area hosted by Way Up Art and Frame will offer guests a unique opportunity to experiment with all kinds of art materials and create their own “mini masterpieces.” Attendees will be able to make jewelry, learn about abstract art, and even take part in a special print-making workshop on a first-come, first-served basis. An entire section of the Bothwell will be devoted to children’s art activities, offering face painting and hands-on art making projects.

For a $10 entrance fee, artists can attend seminars on framing and pricing art, using social media, making YouTube videos to promote their art, and the ins and outs of fine art prints. ART EXPO falls on the final day of the Essential Figurative Exhibit in the West End which showcases the remarkable works of area artists in figurative drawing and painting. As part of the Essential Figurative Exhibit there will be a memorial exhibition honoring artist Jessie Spears and featuring a number of her beloved works. Entrance to the Essential Figure exhibit is free.

Throughout the day, fine arts and hand crafts will be on sale, as well as specials offered on art supplies for the professional or amateur artist. Lunch will be available for purchase and the proceeds will benefit community causes supported by the Livermore Lions Club.

The Bothwell Arts Center and Downtown Arts Studios, as well as the Bankhead Theater, are operated by the Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center. Offering wide-ranging programs that provide access to the arts for the Tri-Valley community and beyond, the three facilities are home to nine resident performing arts companies and over 40 studio artists and cultural arts instructors.
